Estimates and Authorization
An estimate may be provided before repair work begins when the nature of the problem and the required work can reasonably be determined in advance. Additional problems or required parts may be discovered during diagnosis or repair that were not apparent at the time of the initial estimate.
If additional work would materially change the scope or cost of the authorized service, customer approval will be requested before proceeding. Authorization may be provided in person, by telephone, email, text message, or another agreed method of communication.
Diagnostic Services
Diagnosis may require inspection, testing, disassembly, or the temporary removal of components in order to identify the cause of a problem and determine appropriate repair options.
Diagnostic findings are based on the condition of the equipment at the time it is examined. Some problems may be intermittent, concealed, or related to multiple components and therefore may not be immediately identifiable during the initial evaluation.
Repair Risks and Pre-Existing Conditions
Electronic equipment may contain pre-existing damage, weakened components, prior repairs, corrosion, liquid exposure, physical damage, or other conditions that can affect the outcome of service.
Some repair procedures may involve necessary disassembly, heating, soldering, component removal, or other technical processes that carry inherent risk. While reasonable care is taken during service, previously damaged or weakened parts may fail during diagnosis or repair.
Data and Backups
Customers are responsible for maintaining current backups of important files and data before equipment is submitted for service whenever possible.
Although reasonable care is taken during diagnosis and repair, data may be lost or become inaccessible as a result of hardware failure, storage-device failure, operating-system corruption, malware, encryption, repair procedures, or other conditions beyond reasonable control.
Unless data recovery or backup services are specifically requested and agreed upon, service should not be understood as including the preservation, backup, or recovery of customer data.
Parts and Replacement Components
Repairs may require new, refurbished, reconditioned, or compatible replacement parts depending on availability, cost, and the nature of the repair.
When practical, customers may be informed if a non-original or refurbished component is being used. Availability of specific manufacturers, brands, revisions, or part numbers cannot always be guaranteed.
Replaced parts may be retained or disposed of unless return of the original part is requested in advance and return is permitted by the supplier or warranty terms.
Warranty on Repairs
Any warranty provided on a completed repair applies only to the specific work performed and any covered replacement parts, unless otherwise stated at the time of service.
Warranty coverage does not apply to unrelated failures, new damage, accidental damage, liquid exposure, misuse, malware, software issues, power-related damage, or problems caused by components that were not part of the original repair.
Warranty terms may vary depending on the type of repair, the parts used, and any manufacturer or supplier limitations.
Payment and Charges
Payment is due upon completion of service unless other arrangements have been agreed upon in advance.
Charges may include diagnostic fees, labor, parts, materials, shipping, special-order items, or other costs associated with the requested service. Any applicable charges will be communicated as reasonably practical before they are incurred.
Special-order parts or services may require advance payment or a deposit and may be subject to supplier cancellation or return restrictions.
Unclaimed Equipment
Customers are responsible for arranging pickup of completed or unrepaired equipment within a reasonable period after being notified that service is complete or that the equipment is ready for return.
Equipment left unclaimed for an extended period may be subject to storage charges or other handling procedures, where permitted by applicable law.
If equipment remains unclaimed beyond the period allowed by law, it may be treated as abandoned property and handled accordingly.
Limitations of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, liability for loss or damage arising from diagnostic or repair services is limited to direct damages resulting from the specific service performed.
Responsibility is not assumed for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, including loss of data, loss of use, loss of business, or loss resulting from pre-existing defects, hardware failure, software problems, or conditions outside reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or limit any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for providing accurate information about the condition of the equipment, known problems, prior repairs, liquid exposure, passwords or access requirements when needed, and any other details that may reasonably affect diagnosis or service.
Customers are also responsible for removing or identifying any accessories, external devices, removable media, or other items that are not intended to be included with the equipment during service.
Any special instructions, restrictions, or concerns should be communicated before service begins whenever possible.
Software, Accounts, and Access
Certain services may require access to the operating system, user account, device settings, applications, or other software necessary to diagnose or complete the requested work.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that any software, licenses, subscriptions, passwords, or account credentials required for service are valid and authorized for use.
Unless specifically included in the requested service, responsibility is not assumed for third-party software licensing, account recovery, subscription status, or changes made by software vendors or service providers.
Service Completion and Device Return
Once the requested service has been completed, or if no further work is authorized, the equipment will be made available for return to the customer.
Customers are responsible for reviewing the condition and basic operation of the equipment when reasonably practical at the time of pickup or return and for reporting any concerns promptly.
Any remaining issues that are unrelated to the authorized service may require additional diagnosis or a separate service request.
Changes to These Terms
These Service & Repair Terms may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in business practices, service procedures, legal requirements, or other operational needs.
When changes are made, the effective date shown near the top of this page may be revised accordingly. The version in effect at the time service is requested or authorized will apply to that service unless otherwise agreed.
